Jamie Garcia (she, her, ella) received a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science at Bellevue University. Jamie joins Omaha Integrative Care with extensive experience in child welfare, behavioral health, clinical case management, and immigration reform. Jamie is a Clinical Social Work student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is completing her clinical internship with OIC. She will be with OIC as an intern until August 2025.

Jamie is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is dedicated to working with Spanish-speaking clients and is committed to addressing the stigma surrounding mental health within Hispanic/Latino communities. Jamie possesses extensive experience, and a deep understanding of the stressors associated with immigration and the process of acculturation.

In addition to her work with Hispanic/Latino populations, Jamie is dedicated to providing care for individuals across the lifespan, from children to adults.

Jamie has a keen interest in attachment, behavioral, and trauma issues. Jamie uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist clients in identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. She also uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), where she focuses on building skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to promote emotional well-being and healthy coping strategies. These approaches allow Jamie to provide comprehensive and effective support to her clients dealing with various mental health concerns.
