Dr. Allison McKamy is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 20 years of experience in mental health care. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Creighton University, where she developed a strong foundation in nursing practice and advanced psychiatric care.

Dr. McKamy takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, integrating both pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatments to create personalized, evidence-based care plans that address the unique needs of each patient. She is particularly passionate about working with individuals affected by trauma, with a focus on the effective treatment and management of PTSD to promote healing and recovery.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. McKamy is an active leader in the nursing community, serving on the Nebraska Chapter of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Board and currently holding the role of Immediate Past President. Her leadership within the organization reflects her commitment to advancing the profession, supporting mental health nursing, and advocating for the improvement of mental health care at the state and national levels.

Dedicated to advancing mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and improving patient outcomes, Dr. McKamy continuously updates her knowledge and expertise through ongoing education and leadership. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, compassionate care for her patients.
