TRAILS to Wellness: Helping teens manage anxiety & stress

November 17, 2024 | Johnna Hjersman Everson

At Omaha Integrative Care, we understand how overwhelming it can be for adolescents to navigate the pressures of school, social life, and the many challenges that come with growing up. If you or a teen you know is experiencing symptoms of anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm, we’re excited to announce an upcoming group designed specifically for you: TRAILS to Wellness.

Starting soon, our TRAILS to Wellness group will provide a supportive, structured environment for teens to learn valuable skills based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices. Over the course of 8 weeks, participants will develop practical tools for managing difficult emotions, reducing stress, and improving overall mental well-being.

What is CBT and Mindfulness?

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps teens recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns that can contribute to anxiety and stress.
  • Mindfulness teaches teens how to stay grounded in the present moment, helping them manage overwhelming feelings by fostering self-awareness and emotional regulation.

Why Join TRAILS to Wellness?

  • Skills for Life: Teens will leave the group with practical coping strategies that can be applied in everyday situations.
  • Supportive Environment: The group offers a safe space to connect with peers who are going through similar challenges.
  • Expert Guidance: The group will be led by Dr. Taína Collazo, PhD, PLMHP, PCMSW, a therapist with experience working with adolescents.

This is more than just a group—it’s an opportunity to build confidence, resilience, and emotional strength. If your teen is ready to take control of their mental health and develop skills for managing stress and anxiety, TRAILS to Wellness may be the perfect fit.

This group will fill up quickly, so don’t wait to reserve a spot! We look forward to supporting your teen on their journey to greater wellness.
