Our curriculum honors the historical and cultural roots of Yoga, including the subjects of Philosophy, Ayurveda, Meditation, Pranayama, Asana, and more. At OIC, our mission is to create a sanctuary for healing—mind, body, and spirit—empowering all individuals to engage in their health and wellness to live life to the fullest. We bring this vision to life in our Yoga Training Programs, cultivating integrative health and supporting holistic well-being for all.

Our 11 weekend training model allows us to dive deep into each subject and foster an even richer learning experience. We explore a variety of yoga styles including Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, Hatha, and Vinyasa, with a special focus on making the practice accessible to all through props, chairs, and adaptive techniques.

Winter can be a time of turning inward toward rest

Winter can be a time of turning inward toward rest and renewal. However, with a lack of sunlight, lower temperatures and increased isolation, it's important to find leisure activities during the winter months that nurture both the mind and body.

Here are five winter activities to help warm your heart as you embrace the cold season:

❄️ Get Outdoors: Your favorite hiking or walking trails look different in the winter, covered in frost or snow. With the proper winter gear, don't be afraid to explore with a new perspective.

❄️ Start an Indoor Garden: Is your green thumb itching for summer? Start a small indoor plant garden with herbs or winter-friendly plants.

❄️ Cook Up Something New: Try a new recipe, bake that cake, or get your creativity flowing with photography, drawing, painting, playing music or writing. Maybe by summer, you'll have a new hobby!

❄️ Get Together: When it's cold, there's nothing like spending time with loved ones to warm us up. Plan a game night, host a dinner party, or even get your group to volunteer for a great cause together!

Double-check your resolutions list for 2025: Could any of your goals be driven by unrealistic expectations and external pressures? ⬇️

Many New Year’s Resolutions come with a lot of pressure to succeed, which can make you overly critical of yourself. While setting goals for the new year can be motivating, setting overly ambitious goals can be counterproductive or even damaging to your well-being.

Instead of adding one more goal onto your list, here are five ways to have compassion for yourself in 2025:

💚 Treat Yourself Like a Friend: When you’re struggling or feeling down, imagine how you would treat a good friend in a similar situation. Would you offer them words of comfort or reassurance? Practice doing the same for yourself.

💚 Practice Non-Judgmental Awareness: Instead of criticizing yourself for having negative emotions, try to observe them in a neutral, non-judgmental way. This helps reduce the tendency to beat yourself up or feel ashamed of your emotions.

💚 Set Healthy Boundaries: Being compassionate with yourself means knowing when to say "no" to others in order to protect your energy and emotional health. Boundaries are essential for maintaining a sense of self-respect and preventing burnout.

💚 Show Gratitude for Yourself: In addition to being grateful for others, take time to express gratitude toward yourself. Recognize your own strengths, perseverance, and ability to overcome challenges. This helps shift the focus away from criticism and toward appreciation.

💚 Celebrate the Small Wins: Take time each day to recognize and appreciate your efforts, even if they seem small or insignificant. Self-compassion isn’t about waiting until everything is perfect to feel good about yourself; it’s about acknowledging progress.
